Wesley Wonders Pre-School (Fee: $50.00 per week)
Our pre-school is affiliated with the East Central Planning and Development. This is a financial incentive for working parents that my still be struggling to make ends meet monthly.  The Wesley Wonder program is a licensed Early Childhood Development program, providing instruction, nutritional meals, recreational activities and a varied assortment of informative programs for the whole family to learn and participate in, and a loving Christian environment. Our hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am – 6:00 pm. 
Beginning Fall 2009, Wesley Wonders will be the Student Teaching I and Student Teaching II laboratory site for the Early Childhood Education Technology program at Meridian Community College. This is the first year that all 360 student teaching hours will be at one site.
Fees: $50.00 per week. The Certificate Program is available upon request.

Adult Basic Education (G.E.D)
Classes are offered morning and evening in conjunction with the Meridian Community College to provide teenagers and adults the opportunity to continue their education, enhance their capabilities for employment, and prepare to be productive citizens of their community.

Computer Labs (All Lab use is free of charge)
Preschool – located in the Wesley Wonder Preschool and made up of five computers and computer software for the purpose of preparing children for public school and making their transition as easy as possible. We use the same computer software as the Meridian Public School system.
After-school Children – located in the Education Room and is used to assist low income children in homework, research projects and other school –related reports. This affords the children the opportunities and tools they need to prepare on the same level as other students who may have computers in their home.

Elementary Tutoring (All tutoring sessions are free of charge)

This program is a part of our After-School program and is designed to assist children with subject deficiencies and homework. Education Agency staff members work weekly with volunteers in order to establish a relationship with teachers and parents, and to provide a sufficient support system for each young person. Tutors are matched with each child according to the needs of that particular child in order to move him/her forward in their educational journey.

Public Awareness (All presentations are free of charge)

Presentations are made to schools, churches, and other community and civic organizations in each of the following areas by trained professionals in the various fields:

  • Disease Prevention
  • Health and Fitness
  • Signs of Child Abuse
  • Women/Children’s Issues
Child Abuse Prevention (All services are free of charge)
  • Teacher In-Service Programs, educating participants as to recognizing the signs, behaviors and protocol as it pertains to reporting and the law.
  • Prevention Programs for School Age Children, including Stranger Danger and Healthy Dating Relationships. These program enable children and youth to make informed decisions while helping to keep them safe. Last year, our trained professionals spoke to 5,000 children and young people.
  • R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Program, designed for third -forth grade children and fifth –sixth grade children and is a series of six lessons.
    The subjects are:

    • Lesson One: Respect
    • Lesson Two: Personal Rights and Responsibilities
    • Lesson Three: Anger Management and Violence Prevention
    • Lesson Four: Violence Prevention Trivia Game and Sexual Harassment, part A
    • Lesson Five: Sexual Harassment, part B
    • Lesson Six: Community Building
  • Bullying Program, designed to provide another resource for those working with troubled youth, such as the Juvenile Center, Meridian and County Public School Systems and mental health providers. Our trained and licensed professionals work effectively with children and youth who have trouble with anger and bully issues. We do this through trained and licensed therapists and psychologist who walk each child through the bully software provided in the education center, individual therapy sessions, and group sessions.

Cooperative Agency (U.S.M. School of Nursing)

Cooperative Agency of University of Southern Mississippi School of Nursing. Student nurses are allowed to work internships and community service through the Wesley Clinic, located under the Health Care Agency. Meridian Community College nursing program is closely associated with the USM program.
